Ben Harte

Director

Ben has significant experience in the delivery of major projects in the civil, resources and utilities sectors and Ben leads Hartecs Group’s growth where he brings his passion for managing people for outcomes and building effective teams to support our clients’ projects.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys spending time with family and friends, keeping healthy through exercise, enjoying good food and wine, and being in and around the water and ocean, whether that be surfing, swimming with the kids, fishing or just relaxing.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) from Central Queensland University.

Dan Toon

Engineering Services Lead

With experience in the private and public sector, Dan brings a proven track record to Hartecs Group having supported the delivery of key projects such as the $30m Adelaide Park Road to Farnborough Road at Yeppoon, construction of Yeppoon Waste Water Treatment Plant, and the reconstruction of the Scenic Highway at Statue Bay following Tropical Cyclone Marcia.

Outside of work, you will find Dan tearing up the trails on his mountain bike, or strapping on the footy boots to take part in an Old Boys game of rugby.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Central Queensland University and is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.

Noel Gardner

Senior Engineer

From major subdivision works to sporting facilities, utilities infrastructure and university campuses, Noel’s track record of project delivery is one of achievement. It is safe to say that if you live in the Rockhampton region, there is likely to be a piece of infrastructure that you pass every day that Noel had a hand in taking from concept to reality.

Noel holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Queensland, is a Certified Local Government Engineer, Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and Member of Institute of Engineers Australia.

Allister Whatmough

Administrator

Allister Whatmough

Allister’s list of projects covers many of the state’s critical highways and main roads, including involvement in the duplication of Steve Irwin Way, the six-laning of Southport to Burleigh Rd, packages on the Capricorn Highway and Gregory Highway as well as numerous intersection upgrades and bridge works.

Allister holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from XXXXX, is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland and a member of the Association of Professional Engineers Australia.

When he is not supporting the delivery of major projects, Allister can be found in Queensland’s great outdoors, enjoying camping and hitting the trails on his dirt or mountain bikes.

Phil McKenzie

Central Queensland Regional Manager

Combining a wealth of private and public sector experience, Phil also held roles with Graham Scott & Associates, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and RoadTek before joining Hartecs Group.

When he is not delivering projects for our clients, Phil can be found on his 20-acre hobby farm just north of Rockhampton or indulging his passion for motorcycle riding as a member of the Capricorn Dirt Riders Club.

Phil holds an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering from Central Queensland University, Shot Firers Licence and numerous competency licences including slewing crane, construction plant and truck. He is an Officer of the Institute of Engineers Australia and is completing his Advanced Diploma in Project Management.
